Master Chief Larry Nowell retired after a distinguished career with the United States Navy.  He gives recognition to other veterans by using his talent as a wood carver to honor their military service.  In the photograph on the right he is holding an eagle head cane carved to honor Cpl. Frank Woodrow Buckles.  Mr. Buckles is 107 years old and served in World War I.

 Master Chief Nowell served aboard the USS Chicago during the Vietnam War.

Admiral David Glasgow Farragut (1801-1870) Admiral Farragut, was the first senior officer of the U.S. Navy at the time of the American Civil War.  He is also the first Admiral of the U.S. Navy. Famous quote:  "Damn the torpedoes...Full speed ahead."  This bust of Admiral Farragut will be displayed at the Farragut Museum in Knoxville, Tennessee in November 2008.

Admiral James B. Stockdale  Admiral Stockdale is known as the Prisoners' of War Spiritual Leader.  This bust is on display at the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Florida.

Admiral Raymond Ames Spruance  (1886-1969) Admiral Spruance developed the strategic plan to retake the South Pacific Inlands and invade Japan.  While planning to defend the U.S. from invasion by Germany and Japan, the Secretary of the Navy made a uniform change requiring officers to change their hat emblem so the eagle would be looking the other way.  In silent protest, Spruance never changed his emblem.  His bio is called "The Quiet Warrior."  This bust is on display at the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.
